June 20, 2004 -- Built to exacting standards, each valve operates on the same modulation logic. At the heart of every T-O-T valve exists a solid-to-liquid phase change actuator. The precise motion of these thermal actuators can be used to operate a wide variety of devices, limited only by the imagination of the designer. No outside power source is required to produce motion and temperature change alone can be used to operate these valves. Load changes have little to no effect on operating temperature. Properties of the thermal materials within the valve’s actuator are so precise that ASTM uses them as primary reference standards for instrument calibration.
